FAQ
Frequently asked questions
For families
What does "Verified" mean?
Nannies and au pairs earn the Verified badge when all five checks are complete: ID, a valid First Aid certificate, background check and two references. Each profile shows the date every check was completed.
What is the difference between an au pair and a nanny?
An au pair usually lives in or works part-time, often helping with school runs and light household tasks. A nanny provides dedicated, professional childcare, full-time or part-time, focused on the children.
How do I contact a caregiver?
Create a free family account and sign in. You will then see the phone number and email address on each approved profile.
Does it cost anything for families?
Creating a family account and contacting caregivers is free during our launch period. We’ll give registered families plenty of notice before any paid plans are introduced. Concierge Match and Verify My Nanny are optional paid services, available on request: contact us to book. See our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Who employs the caregiver?
You do. We introduce and verify; the working arrangement is directly between you and the caregiver. As the employer, you are responsible for things like a written contract, the domestic worker minimum wage, and UIF.
Is a badge a guarantee?
No. A badge shows exactly which checks were completed and when. We still recommend interviewing caregivers and speaking to their references yourself.
For nannies and au pairs
Is it free to list my profile?
Yes. Listing is free for both nannies and au pairs.
What do I need to get started?
Your ID document, a current First Aid certificate, and contact details for two referees.
How does the background check work?
We arrange it separately, outside the website. We never upload or store criminal record reports; your profile only shows that the check is complete and the date.
When will my profile appear to families?
After you submit your profile, our team reviews it. Once approved, it appears in search results, and we email you to let you know. If something needs changing, we email you to explain what.
What happens when my First Aid certificate expires?
Your badge is paused automatically until you upload a new certificate and we confirm it. Your profile stays visible, but without the badge.
Your information
Who can see my details?
The public sees a caregiver's first name and surname initial, area, experience and checklist, but never contact details or documents. Only signed-in families see phone numbers and email addresses. Family profiles are private. See our Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my account?
Email us via the contact page and we will delete your account and information, apart from records the law requires us to keep.
